An Enhanced Flooded Battery is designed for standard vehicles with a Start/Stop engine function.
The battery is more compact so there is less movement within the plates. There is a double layer of paste is added to the positive plate which helps keep the positive active material on the plate.
This helps the battery accept charge and reduces plate corrosion, therefore improving battery life. An EFB is fitted to vehicles which do not have regenerative breaking system so it will be found on entry level vehicles with a basic Start/Stop function.
