MOBILITY

Haze has three battery technologies for electric vehicles, including mobility and golf. AGM (HZB), AGM-EX (HZB-EX) and GEL (HZY).

AGM - Classic Range

AGM (absorbent glass mat) batteries are widely used in electric vehicles.

AGM batteries are a specific type of lead-acid battery where the electrolyte is held within a glass mat surrounding the lead plates. This unique design allows the energy to be stored in a suspended state, providing a stable and consistent cycle. It also protects the plates, leading to a longer lifespan, increased usage, and resistance to vibrations, all while being maintenance-free.

Our most popular battery line comes from the Classic Collection, featuring the HAZE AGM. This is the ideal battery for you if you use your scooter seasonally, don’t travel long distances frequently, and when you do, it’s on flat, even terrain. This battery is perfect for your needs.

AGM EX - Supreme Range

AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat, but what makes it "Extra," and why is it regarded as a superior battery? Haze has efficiently utilized unused space within the battery across five different models. This innovation results in more lead and additional conductive material, increasing the battery's amp hours (Ah) and allowing for longer usage before recharging.

The remarkable aspect of the EX Supreme battery is that it retains the same box size. If your scooter is designed to fit two 44 Ah batteries, using the 44EX means you can enjoy the same physical dimensions while benefiting from 40% more Ah. This enhancement leads to an extended runtime for your scooter.

“An OE product is great; it signifies that trusted brands also rely on our products and integrate them into their scooters during production. For instance, Sunrise Medical scooters utilize Haze batteries in their Q300 and Q400 models.”

AGM EX specs:

Part Number Volts Ah @ C20 Length x Width x Height (mm) Weight (KG)
HZB-EV12-18EX 12 26.4 181 x 77 x 170 7.2
HZB-EV12-26EX 12 33.6 168 x 178 x 124 8.9
HZB-EV12-33EX 12 41.1 195 x 130 x 160 11.6
HZB-EV12-44EX 12 56 195 x 165 x 174 15.1
HZB-EV12-55EX 12 64.5 229 x 138 x 213 18.7

Gel - Premium Range

In an AGM battery, the electrolyte is held within the glass matting; whereas a gel battery holds it in a suspended gelled electrolyte. The suspension of the electrolyte moves slower within the battery, but why is that important?

A Gel battery can be used for longer before it needs a recharge. It works better if it is hotter or colder than usual and has a higher cycle life, which means it lasts much longer than an AGM.

A premium battery requires regular use (or cycling, in battery terminology). Frequent usage and recharging help the premium battery perform at its best and reach full capacity quickly.

If a Gel battery isn't used regularly, it may seem to lag, even though it hasn't yet reached optimal performance. That's why we always suggest the Gel Battery for individuals who rely on their scooter or chair and use it more than three times a week. The scooter will be used for a significant part of the day and recharged overnight, allowing optimal cycling. Given the opportunity to operate at its full potential, this battery will outlast an AGM battery.

Gel specs:

“Haze has been refining AGM technology designed explicitly for scooters for years, which is why they are recognized as an original equipment manufacturer”

Our trade counter warranty

All of our batteries come with a warranty covering a manufacturer's fault.

What does the manufacturer's fault cover?

A faulty cell; this occurs when the active material on the plates doesn't form properly, the breakdown causes one cell to lose its voltage totally.

An open circuit: This problem can be total or intermittent, and it’s caused by a severed or fractured inter-cell connector.

There are common user errors that can’t be claimed under warranty. These include:

  • Letting a battery run flat. A flat battery is not a faulty battery.

  • Fitting the incorrect battery to an application will prematurely damage the battery through no fault of the manufacturer, and invalidate your warranty.

  • Blackened Acid. This occurs when the battery has been overcycled.

  • Irregular use can prematurely damage the battery through no fault of the manufacturer, and invalidate your warranty.

The warranty period differs depending on your battery. Below are the warranty periods:

  • Automotive – 2 years

  • Commercial - 2 years

  • Taxi – 6 months

  • Leisure – 2 years

  • Lawn & Motorcycle – 1 year

  • Deep Cycle / Traction – 1 year

  • Haze Batteries – 1 year

Free Testing!

We are happy to test any battery purchased from Easystart for free. Depending on the condition of the battery, this can be an on-the-spot test, or we might need to keep it for a number of days to complete a proper test.

All readings will be recorded upon receipt of the battery and again after testing.

All warranty claims must be accompanied by proof of purchase.
